How To Catch A Scammer

[Entertainment News]

Chris Hansen, the host of a once popular crime show gets himself arrested.

Chris Hansen got the Chris Hansen treatment, sort of, when Connecticut cops confronted him and then busted him ... for bouncing checks.

The former host of "To Catch a Predator" was arrested Monday in Stamford for larceny. Cops say he failed to pay a local vendor nearly $13,000 for stuff he'd purchased in 2017 ... and allegedly gave the guy the runaround with 2 bounced checks.

According to Stamford PD, Chris bought 355 mugs, 288 t-shirts and 650 vinyl decals from a mom-and-pop shop in town for marketing events he planned to attend. The owner says the goods were delivered, but Chris bailed on his $12,998.05 tab.

Yes, I watched the Golden Globes.

      Yes, I saw "Vice".

Yes, I thought Christian Bale was remarkable as Dick Cheney.

And yes, I believe Liz Cheney is every bit the disloyal, backstabbing opportunist the film portrays her to be.

New Comic Book Based on Eartha Kitt Celebrates Her Iconic Character

Eartha Kitt Femme FataleEartha Kitt was once referred to as “the most exciting woman in the world” by Orson Welles. From her vast singing and acting career and for being outspoken in the world of politics and publicly ostracized for her anti-war remarks that derailed her career, Kitt’s life was definitely one of intrigue. Now she’s being immortalized via a comic book. “Eartha Kitt: Femme Fatale“, written by New York Times Bestselling Author Marc Shapiro, who also penned the Julie Newmar series, was released last week. “This series has been have been so much fun to do,” said Shapiro. “And it is an homage to the kinds of stories that first appeared in the mid-60′s”.

          According to the press release:

Eartha Kitt is on holiday, searching for the purrfect wave. When suddenly??? Well, we won’t spoil the surprise. But in the tradition of DC Nation and all good things for all ages comes “Eartha Meets The Gorgon,” the first in a series of adventures. “Eartha Meets The Gorgon” is the long anticipated return to good clean fun.

The print version of the comic is only available at the Comic Book Flea Market and can be ordered directly through this link: http://bit.ly/Y6oDHl. To find out more about the legendary Eartha Kitt please go to her website: http://www.earthakitt.com

So...I saw "Welcome To Marwen" yesterday. And it was a very powerful movie...it hit me on a ton of levels...and I am still processing. My mother even thought it was a really good and powerful movie.

I will not ruin it for those who want to see it...but it is very powerful...and I was living this as the movie was happening. Not all of us are beaten physically, as Hogie was...but SO MANY of us who are different...are beaten every bt as bad...emotionally, mentally, and psychologically as Hogie was. But that never makes the papers.

I will only tell anyone who sees this...be prepared, this is NOT quite what you go in expecting...and if you are human at all, it is going to grab you on a level you can't even explain very well...I can't even yet.

Also, I will tell you to pay special attention to Deja...the Belgian Witch of Marwen. I picked up almost immediately on what she represents. And turned out to be correct. It's actually very subtle at first, and if I did not have many of the same sort of life experience, I might not have picked up on it as early as I did.

Anyway, totally worth seeing, a very god movie.

By the way, in case you are wondering...and they do NT tell you this in the movie...nit even at the end...in real life, the attackers of Mark Hogancamp...two got probation, two got five years, and the ringleader got nine years.

Laverne DeFazio (Penny Marshall) Dead At 75

So I guess I am the right Yabz person to do an article about this...many here are aware of the influence Laverne and Shirley had on my young life. Interestingly, was just talking about her this weekend, and planning to get an L for my blouse for next Halloween.

Something about that whole "Doin' It Our Way" just was wonderful in that era and we need more of it again today...the feel-good era of television.

Of course, Penny got typecast as Laverne, and never really did any other major role as an actress, but, doin' it her own way she went on to be a director, directing Tom Hanks in "Big" and also doing "A League Of Their Own"

I for one, will miss her.

Funnily enough...trans as I am, avowed sissy as I was...Laverne, the tomboy of the pair...was the one that attracted me.

                  Or maybe it was this...

"I'm not an articulate person, but I have a strange combination of insecurity and fearlessness," Marshall once told CNN.

I could say much the same, except that I am articulate...I certainly DO have a strange mix of insecurity and fearlessness! Maybe that us what attracted me.

RIP, Penny Marshall...I will miss you!
