      A Somber Anniversary

      & An Existential Warning

The 9/11 attacks saw the death of nearly 3,000 people. In this image, smoke billows

As we contemplate the 17th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks, we should be equally mindful of the warning from National Intelligence Director Dan Coats that the "red lights are flashing" just as they did before 9-11.

There is now convincing evidence that Russia is behind the "sonic attacks" on U.S. diplomats in Cuba as well as similar incidents in China. And it's not considered a rogue operation by our intelligence agencies, but rather state-sponsored from the highest levels of the Russian government. That means we are under attack on multiple fronts - sonic, electro-magnetic, cyber - all at the direction of Trump's puppet master Vladimir Putin. And the president is doing nothing to protect us while he recites insincere platitudes about the heroes of 9-11.

As Bob Woodward has gone to great lengths to emphasize with the release of his book "Fear", that Donald Trump is not only unfit to serve, he poses an existential threat to America's national security.

Rachel Maddow speculated that the title "Fear" may have a double meaning: not only the fear of Trump's reckless, impulsive, potentially catastrophic behavior that grips the White House, but the fear the American people ought to feel as we look to the future of the Trump presidency. Bob Woodward will be Rachel's guest tonight.

It is painfully apparent that Congress will take no action (apart from jamming through the confirmation of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh) until at least after the November mid-term elections.

Only a massive repudiation of Trump's runaway train by voters can pull us back from the brink.

Despite the rhetoric, the Cold War has re-started. It is not as in the past, no longer fought by proxy wars and armed guards at border crossings. Instead, it has gone invisible, electronic espionage, economic warfare, and still spy versus spy. And no one has clean hands, both sides play dirty and do despicable things.

But the role of the President is to dictate policy and direct resources towards the largest and most critical threats. And I fear that since these programs, by definition, must remain silent and secret, Trump is ignoring directing these vital intelligence and other critical national security issues.

The professional bureaucrats can do only so much, they try to keep their activities and agencies busy fighting the silent war. But without a clear directive from the Office of the President on policies and direction, they are like a rudderless ship, unable to direct their efforts towards the threats that matter.

For example, the USA is extremely vulnerable to cyber-attack, not only from Russia and China, but North Korea. Has Trump directed his national security team to beef up the cyber protection of the military and vital resources such as power plants?

He would rather get up on a stage in front of cheering throngs and make noise about a Space Force.

You're still blaming the Arabs for 9/11? What a maroon. Those buildings were wired and demolished. Watch them fall. Hype is just that.

Does anyone really still believe that "controlled demolition" nonsense? It's impossible, physically, logistically, in every way impossible, and even thirty seconds of rational thought ought to tell you that.

And just for the record, I didn't say anything about "blame" in my piece. That's not what it was about.

Insincere platitudes is right. I saw the photo of Trump fist pumping to the crowd as he walked across the tarmac to the Memorial in Pennsylvania.

A solemn occasion to honor the dead and that dick wad is doing fist bumps to the crowd like it's a world wrestling. event

Donald Trump facing widespread social media backlash after he was pictured greeting supporters with a triumphant double fist pump as he arrived to a 9/11 memorial service on Tuesday, the 17th anniversary of the terror attacks.

This is not an exclamation point day. This is not a fist pump day.

You sully the solemnity of this day. History will not be kind to you.

But we will those who lost their lives and those who

gave so much to help so many on that day, and the days that came after.

Today we get a fist pump because Trump thinks ppl are there for him.

What a rabbit hole we have gone down. Anyone that thinks this gesture

doesn’t show exactly who trump really is , think again
