I am proud to announce two new categories for Discussion starters. Bernie's Voices and Social Justice.

Bernie's Voices is a long overdue category on Yabberz. Bernie represents a passionate movement in our Country today - a movement to embrace policies that are more aggressively progressive and less capitalistic than those in our recent history. Bernie makes many compelling arguments e.g., free college education and healthcare as a right. He presents these arguments in a way that is easy to follow and are extremely popular with younger voters as well as folk turned-off by some of the power struggles in the modern DNC. He is also one of the most visible advocates that Climate Change is an urgent National Security concern. I look forward to learning more about Bernie myself by reading discussions in this topic area.

Social Justice is a new topic area to discuss issues of income economics, racial and other inequalities that exist in our policies and social order. Social Justice is another topic which I am excited to continue to read and learn about from our community of thoughtful posters. When I first heard the phrase "Social Justice", it was in the context of Black Lives Matter and I really did not understand its meaning at all. While I have always reacted to #BLM with "wait, wait but ... All Lives Matter", the 2016 campaign gave me pause as to how little in some communities we have progressed from Jim Crowe days. Social Justice is not just a race thing, it is also about gender inequalities, cultural understanding and more. Gender inequality in terms of pay and position is still a huge issue even in our highly progressive home of Silicon Valley. Social Justice needs attention, and we now have a category to give it just that.

Find the two new topics in the top menu bar, as well as in the drop-down menu category menu when posting.

As always best wishes to everyone. Melissa and I are doing well, and we are enjoying the relative harmony of the new Yabberz. At the same time we feel the mission to #Resist is more important than ever. Despite the daily issues with the new Trump administration, the reality is that Obamacare repeal will likely pass and many more damaging policies are in motion. Trump is not likely going to be impeached, and 2018 is the best window for progress. We need to stay motivated and attentive as a community - always recruiting and motivating with fact based arguments.

Apologize again to those experiencing the backspace/delete issue in Chrome 58. I check everyday to see if someone has found a simple work-around fix. We expect resolution by June 9th with release of Chrome 59.

A good workaround in the meantime is to select the text, and Cut it (Ctrl-X). It beats backspacing one letter at a time.

If you ever need technical assistance or help. I am willing to help in anyway I can. While we have our political differences, I do support having vigorous discussion etc. My linked in profile is at https://www.linkedin.com/in/seanglazier/

I agree there needs to be a bernie section and he got treated really badly in the last election. I think discussing what he stood for and what he would do in the alternative is important and go a long way in bringing others along with you.

The republicans have used the nuclear option and unconstitutional executive orders to ride roughshod over our civil rights. They talk and act like the democratic majority who voted for Hillary IS DEAD.Its not surprising that somebody took out their frustrations with a rifle and shot at the Republican softball team. Their arrogant partisan talk makes good people feel like their backs are pressed to the wall. Hopefully the shooting will make them feel some humility about people with other political viewpoints

I am very glad I finally got to this article. Bernie's voices is a great idea, he is a bit too much for some, especially older generations, for who capitalism is only way they see the world can turn, and Bernie is a not right in his head socialist in their mind. But younger generation views things differently and Bernie resonates a lot with what type of a society they want to live in and how they want to see United States in a foreseeable future. He won't be a president, but he is the beginning of a change and his input will have a tremendous effect on our society.

                      Dear Mike / Melissa,

I appreciate your recent re-invite to your website. However, since I read your new mission statement recently I can no longer consider Yabberz a site for debate.
To be sure, there is plenty to criticize Trump for; he never was my favorite candidate but he is the president now so we must let him do the job as he sees it, just as we let Obama play president for 8 years.

By the way, I consider Obama's time in our White House the most embarrassing joke played upon those who voted for him and Michelle, while those who did not have a right to feel criminally abused during that time.

Furthermore your most prolific writers, save a few exceptions, do not sound more intelligent than a 12 year old drop-out.

I just clicked on Lizzy's "the Memo". I had to read it twice because I had a problem believing that you allow such feeble-minded yet hateful drivel on your site. Who is this woman to tell me I should pay for an abortion for some pregnant girl who does not want her offspring and if she can not pay for an abortion to have to take care of the kid even though I had not the slightest joy of creating it. Allowing this garbage on your site is a poor reflection on you both personally and causes the site to lose credibility.

And your "pundits" are anything but. It seems to me you consider anybody a pundit as long as he or she writes -or cuts-and-pastes- long posts.

Murph is a prime example of a guy who, looking at his avatar, considers himself an intellectual light in the dark. Recently I had to correct him on a news item he proudly brought before the Yabberz class pertaining to a new invention that made it possible to take the CO2 out of he air and make it into alcohol. If he had done any research at all he would have found that to go from a carbon/oxygen compound to any of the various alcohol compounds another element (hydrogen) is needed. So meanwhile pundit Murph gets credit for enlightening us about a new development, while after I set him straight, I get totally ignored. So judging by that experience Murph has no credibility.

I could go on for a while but I learned at a young age to not invest too much into something of dubious value.

It will be interesting. As you know, I do not think Bernie Sanders is the mensch he portrays.

In my opinion he should be called the great spoiler. His roll is to divide and keep the Democratic Party weak.
