In the race for Senator in TX don't be so sure people were actually voting for Beto O'Rourke as much as they were voting against Cruz who is one of the least liked people in Congress. I have strong reservations about Beto and think he is more of a wolf in sheep's clothing. The fossil fuel industry in TX wasn't afraid of O'Rourke because they had him in their pocket so why should they care if it ends up with Cruz or O'Rourke, they both sold their souls to the fossil fuel industry.

O'Rourke signed a pledge to not accept fossil fuel donations over $200 but it was discovered that not only did he accept donations over $200 from the fossil fuel industry and violated the pledge he signed but he did not return those donations.

O'Rourke sends off an alarm with me because he is talking in generalities telling folks to wait till later to hear what he has to say about where he stands on the issues. One would think that if a person was going to run for office, especially that of the presidency, they would have their agenda and platform ready. This makes me think Beto might be waiting to see where his rivals may stand on the issues and he may cut and paste their position bits of their statements on the issues and problem solving and turn it into his own. This may not mean O'Rourke really supports those issues as much as it just sounds good. One thing O'Rourke needs to understand and that is we want real answers not some bullsh*t he think sounds good.

I personally think O'Rourke is a bit of a con artist and is nothing near the Progressive he wants to believe he is. If you actually look at his voting record you might wonder if this guy is even a Democrat let alone a Progressive. I hope reporters ask him where he plans on getting his funding for his campaign and asks about all that money he raised from the fossil fuel industry he swore he would not accept.

O'Rourke seems to be very charismatic among the younger voters with his generalities and these younger voters need to find out who this man really is and who it will be that he will ultimately support in the end.

Have to agree, he basically a flash in the pan, although I cannot stand Ted Cruz and hoped O'Rouke would have beaten him. O'Rouke is running on Personality and 'Pop Culture' flippancy.

What is needed for a Democrat to win is substance and a platform of believable ideas, vision and backbone! Who wants a Skateboarding President rolling in the Halls of Congress from the White House. I don't!

I was a Republican Right Center. Last 10 years that party left me,now centrist and looking for something to grab onto. Thus far, no one from the Democrat side has presented that. By Nov 2020 will likely still be walking that fine line based on what is emerging from the Party at the moment.

Yet, a nightmare worse than anything experienced in Vietnam is the prospect of 4 more years of 'Trumpan-zeeism'!

Jut off the top of my head = =

I’d be interested in seeing an actual policy vote rather than no being used if no affirmative position is known.

He is no one I have thought of supporting, but we shall see.

We have an awful lot of choices, and almost 8 months to learn more and firm up our first responses.

Free Beacpn Press is a Conservative publication, so of course they’d go after O’Rourke.

I’d rather see him in the Fed Senate first I think . . .

I kinda like Harris, Warren, and Castro - maybe even Booker; but again, 8 months.

Promises to be a lot of research in my future.

I originally had Elizabeth Warren and Tulsi Gabbard as my two choices but Gabbard has some major baggage of her own she would bring into the race such as her support for Assad and her stance against the gay community in the past that I think she might not be such a good choice leaving me with Senator Warren so far. I want someone who has the ability to think on their feet, one who has a proven record of accomplishments, one who understands the nuances of how our government works, one who hasn't sold their soul to the big corporations and the wealthy at the expense of the 98% and most of all one who has integrity and knows what truth means. I see all those qualities in Senator Warren. In other words I want a fighter and this time I want that fighter to be on my side.

The question I ask of each of the candidates is, what are they bringing to the table as far as proven past accomplishments. I don't want a novice sitting in the white house because we have exactly that now. This is not some kind of popularity contest. This is a fight for our existence as a democratic republic. I don't need someone who is going to spew a bunch of generalizations with nothing concrete to substantiate what they say in terms of achieving those goals. If we want someone who is going to promise us the world then why not run Ms. America for the presidency?

                  Thank you for the s/s.

I'm not enthused, but if he ends up with the nomination he'll have my vote. Still, I want to compare him to everyone else and see how he stands up.

                      Sponsored.

I will vote for whoever wins the nomination. This guy does remind me in many ways of Obama, who had no chance against Hillary at this point.

Thanks Gayle. I just have a gut feeling about this guy and it sends off warning bells. His voting record stinks and if he continues to call himself a Progressive he is just not telling the truth and I am so tired of liars.

Not really defending him, but he just announced. It would stand to reason, that he would have oil money, his district is in Texas and thats where the money is in Texas. It isn't much different than saying Hillary tepresented Wall St. That would stand to reason, that was her district when she was a Senator.

I am willing to wait for his platform.
