Blame anything but the gun seems to be the way forward for Republicans as they still lick their wounds from watching an angry, unhinged white man take to their baseball practice and opened fire with a legally held firearm.

This time around their potential assassin wasn't a Black Muslim Black Lives Matter Jihadist which was clearly an inconvenience to all those on the right who had to make do with a white man in his late sixties with a serious gripe against the current political environment......not those angry white voters who are Right Wing Republicans but those 'Snowflake' liberals whose feelings are apparently still in tatters after the rise of the other angry white men in the room....real muricans.

Those same murican souls who remained dignified and reasoned and sensitive to the needs of others and not once went out of their way to denigrate anyone who stood in opposition to their own deeply held prejudices. Funny that minds should now be focussed on this latest act of lunacy born of a hatred for the powers that currently turn the wheels in the form of the GOP control. This act was another lone wolf terror attack. This time is was driven by hatred of Trump, the GOP and as it happens in the past a hatred for Hillary Clinton.

But again, another avoidable incident in which people are met with a hail of gunfire from someone angry at the current version of the world. In this instance a man who took deadly exception to the world he saw being created around him. His social media and his Facebook contributions laden with Anti-Trump, Anti-GOP materials that whilst not leading to the attack on the field of play but reinforcement of his deeply held political persuasion.

What is sickening is the line from many on the right and those within the GOP apparatus who have all of a sudden woken up to what they themselves have been implicit in for over a decade and more with their disgusting behaviours when it came to how the prior occupant of the White House was labelled all sorts of reprehensible things, all complete lies but all playing to the cheap seats.

More nauseating is the fact that these same people who want their 'Kumbaya' moment as the dust from from bullets has settled and they can play the victims of a hatred that has been condemned by all including Bernie Sanders who wasted no time in addressing the attack and condemning violence in any form.

Yet the right who have mercilessly and systematically obliterated anything that resembles fact or truth have wasted absolutely no time in playing once again to their easily led base. Take for example Tucker Carlson who gave his usual nonsense befitting the total gobshite that he is. He says in the video below that is isn't the fact that it was 'Gun Violence' but that because this act is 'Political Violence' it has more dark undertones that could lead to 'Civil War'.....

Carlson who is no stranger to the art of Bullshittery was truly on a high fibre diet when he wheeled out this little statement...

So this coming from Carlson who clearly doesn't really care who is shot at any given time. But he also made it a point to not mention his own dehumanising language of the other side. From Black Lives Matter, protesters, refugees, even liberals have all been tainted by him and many others on the right.

Notice how Carlson didn't mention the need to keep the deadliest and easily available weapons out of the hands of people like the killer, James T. Hodgkinson. A man riven with an unhinged anger, a man with a police record and a man who should never ever have had the opportunity to own a gun.

As I posted yesterday it appears that the success of NRA and GOP alignment on guns has all of a sudden come back to bite those aforementioned on their bloodlusting arses. They defended the right for Hodgkinson to buy and own a weapon, they were implicit in putting the gun in the hands of someone with evil intent.

Evil intent that was never more visceral, never more destructive and never as gut wrenching and tragic as that one instance when it was a classroom of 6-7 year olds. It is the call to 9-11 that Sandy Hook School was being shot up by someone with serious mental health issues. It was the intervening hours when it became clear that this was something truly dark.

      It was those faces.....

The faces of little lives torn from this earth.....

It was a President who had been dehumanised, denigrated and despised by those who snipped at his human reaction as a father when he shed tears for those needlessly murdered where they sat.

It is those who defend the ease of access and ignore the incidents of mass shootings in the US of which there have been too many for a civilised society.

It is those who laud their A+ ratings from their paymasters at the NRA.

It is those who can take any mass shooting and claim their rights are under threat when stopping guns getting into the hands of those who shouldn't. The second amendment rules all.

Then again when you have some make statements such as.......

“It is insulting to the American people that President Obama is attempting to take away the constitutionally protected rights of law abiding citizens in an obvious effort to change the subject away from his failure to keep America safe from radical Islamic terrorists,”

''I will do everything in my power to block any attempt by this President to restrict our Second Amendment rights, while our Republican-led House will continue focusing on ways to strengthen our military so we can secure our borders and defeat ISIS.”

Steve Scalise (GOP, NRA A+ Rating)

It was only a matter of time before Karma caught up.

We very frequently do encounter the phrase "Bullets can kill", but so can ballots. Outside of the facts that "ballots" enable bullets, the number of victims of ballots will always outweigh the number of those who fall victim to bullets.

Are we surprised? Not really. Gun advocates are the first to be pro gun until it comes to a convention then they are told to leave the weapons at home. Anyone notice that. Legislators have no problems with allowing open carry crazies on the street just not too close to them. It's always the same. No poverty is bad, since they don't physically deal with it. No healthcare is necessary since they have it. No protection from guns is needed they aren't affected by gun violence...oops.

The Republicans were the ones who voted recently to allow the mentally ill to have a gun. This shooter was a violent man, he was arrested numerous times for domestic violence. A lot of the shooters lately have had domestic violence records and were violent men. The hate that is shown by all the Republicans these days has a direct cause and affect to these shootings. The male that shoot up the Planned Parenthood were a police officer was shot, had a history of domestic violence arrest and was spurred on by hateful comments and fake film of the right wing. It doesn't help that any one with mental illness can get a gun. Here in Virginia they just said no to a bill that would allow victims of domestic violence to carry a concealed weapon for their protection and now their ex-partners can carry guns. My husband is violent, I left he found me where I was and I had to move again. He has been in a hospital, and when I left him he told his friends that it was the governments fault that I left him. And he can have a gun, I can't? This is madness. The Republicans have only themselves to blame, when you use hate speech, then do not be surprise when it comes back to bite you.

Seriously?! Did I hear Carlson say that shooting at politicians is MORE important than shooting school children!?!

                      He can burn in hell.

This has said it all. They got a very small taste at that baseball practice of what the fully trapped and massacred children and young adults fully experienced at Newtown, Orlando, San Bernadino, Aurora etc. Terrified, trapped, butchered. If the GOP is serious to close down the hate and the madness they must be willing to truly compromise on everything from sensible gun laws, women's rights, taxes, single payer health care etc. Compromises will move us toward an agreed to societal environment and satisfy most people to the greatest degree possible. Until locked in stone GOP and Dem positions soften to find compromise there will be no way to slow down the march to more violence like this. And Trump has to shut up with the vitriolic tweets. He is fanning flames.
