      Harry Reid Blasts Trump

      "Worst President We've Ever Had"

Former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on President Donald Trump:

“He’ll lie. He’ll cheat. You can’t reason with him.”

      January 2, 2019

In a rare interview with the New York Times Magazine's Mark Leibovich published today, former Senate Majority leader Harry Reid held nothing back in a scathing assessment of President Donald J. Trump.

In the past, Reid had merely dismissed Trump as a “spoiled brat,” a “con man” and a “human leech”, but in retrospect had nonetheless underestimated him. Always outspoken, Reid had in early 2016 characterized Trump as “a big fat guy” who “didn’t win many fights”, but still hadn't taken the full measure of Trump as President of the Untied States.

Now, diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer, Reid did not mince words about the president. “I think he is without question the worst president we’ve ever had,” he said. “We’ve had some bad ones, and there’s not even a close second to him.” He added: “He’ll lie. He’ll cheat. You can’t reason with him.”

Reid objected to the oft-repeated comparisons made of Trump, most notably by former FBI Director James Comey, to the head of a Mafia crime family, with "omerta" codes of silence and loyalty, and a fear-based leadership style.

Having served as Chairman of Nevada's Gaming Commission in the 1970's, Reid had known the "piranha bowl" of Las Vegas politics well. (Some of the plot of the film “Casino” was based loosely on Reid’s experiences.) There were numerous threats to his life and at least one actual attempt (a bomb discovered under the hood of his family car).

Once in the mob cross-hairs himself, Reid said,“Organized crime is a business and they are really good with what they do. But they are better off when things are predictable. In my opinion, they do not do well with chaos. And that’s what we have going with Trump".

Reid added: “Trump is an interesting person. He is not immoral but is amoral. Amoral is when you shoot someone in the head, it doesn’t make a difference. No conscience.”

I always like Harry Reid. He's right about Trump. He is amoral. And I fear that losing people like Harry is not good for America. And having Trump as our President is a nightmare.

My mom is losing weight and has no appetite these days. A year ago she was operated on for gall stones and an inflamed common bile duct that had to have a stint put into it. The surgeon removed her gall bladder and cleaned out her bile duct of debris and then put in the stint. He removed the stint about a week later. Dr. Lavu was very concerned and wanted to do some scrapings with an endoscope to check mom's common bile duct for cancer cells. She had a MRI and it showed no cancer in the pancreas or Liver. But it's hard to see cancer in the bile duct. You have to go down through the throat into the stomach and into the first part of the small intestines and then using a wire to go up into the common bile duct and see what's going on up inside the duct. Bile that is produced by the pancreas and liver flows down the common bile duct and into the small intestines and is used to digest fat in the food we eat. Mom refused to go back to get her bile duct checked out and now I worry that she might have some blockage or cancer in her bile duct. She's lost weight and energy. I give her Ensure and Boost Shakes to help her get her necessary vitamins, proteins and carbs in liquid form. She had a hard time swallowing food. She has a canker in the side of her throat the size of a nickel. Food can get stuck in this hole in her throat.

Mom's younger sister died of pancreatic cancer and it was awful. My cousins lost their mom about 5 years ago. And then they lost their father to Alzheimer Disease.
