      fascinating inside information.

I don't have a problem with the league caring about any loss of revenue from sponsors etc. That's fine.

But, the league made a huge mistake in demanding linkage between their efforts to improve the social issues and ending player protests.

Had they instead just made their donations and efforts on a sincere and sustained level, it's possible and even likely that more and more players would simply choose not to protest during NFL time.

They have other platforms as players outside of game-time, and might not be as inclined to hurt revenue from the NFL if the NFL was showing itself to be a very responsive organization on the actual issues.

I had thought that was what Jenkins was trying to do, and perhaps that was his intention even if he was not successful.

(Besides, as an Eagles fan - I love Malcolm Jenkins!)

The league was trying to appease people with political agendas, operating outside of the game, who wanted to see the league limit, if not control, the voices of their players as means of redirecting their protest, making it about the flag and therefore, also, illegitimate. They got that so wrong. It is something the NBA would have never done. And, ironically, because of how the NBA is run you will never see NBA players kneeling during the national anthem to bring attention to the concerns black males have about their reality of being the most likely to be unjustifiably shot by police. They address it upfront and contribute to causes the players support, including BLM.

S/S. Unfortunately, this is the way America has always worked. "Separate But Equal" was not truly and option. White people wanted to maintain control of Black people, so integration (assimilation) was put in place. Now we're still dealing with systemic racism and fighting for equality because integration was never about providing people with equal opportunities along with our white counterparts.

Thanks for the sponsor and share.

The League was only concerned with one thing ...and that was not losing revenue, but they weren't willing to support the players agenda of helping to improve relations between black males and the police without the players promising to discontinue their protest. So they reached an agreement with one player as though he represented the player coalition as it were before the other players refused to go along with the leagues desire.

I'm glad he finally put it out in the open. And, yes, this is a continuance of the American way. Money and Power, and the desire to keep people in their place.

Shut up Boy! Is how we hear it. I'm happy Eric refused to shut up.
