Of late, congressional republicans have promoted that a second special counselor should be appointed to investigate the investigators of the Russian investigation, because a dossier that was paid for by the Clinton campaign was used as the reason the FBI began investigating if there was collusion/conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russia.
Republicans have consistently attempted to discredit the dossier as uncorroborated and untrue. Au contraire mon frere. As republicans who attempted to publicly discredit the dossier already knew, the reason the FBI was interested in the dossier and indeed negotiated to pay for it, is because the dossier actually corroborated things the FBI had already been investigating.
In fact it appears that by not releasing the sworn testimony of the parties from Fusion GPS, Senate republicans may actually be guilty of conspiring to cover up testimony that supports the veracity of the dossier. So this revelation begs the question, not as republicans suggest that should the investigators be investigated, but rather should the investigators of the investigators be investigated?
