I hope this is a taste of what is yet to come.

Republicans rushed to join Democrats Thursday in rebuking President Trump and his border wall plans, voting to overturn his emergency declaration and prevent him from using some Pentagon money to build new fencing.
The 59-41 vote is the second black eye the GOP-led Senate has dealt Mr. Trump this week, following Wednesday’s move under the War Powers Resolution to curtail his military assistance for the Saudi-led coalition fighting a civil war in Yemen.
Mr. Trump is expected to use his veto, and Republicans said there will be more than enough votes to sustain him, so he will likely prevail in the end.
But the votes this week exposed a Republican Party increasingly willing to join Democrats to defy the president, particularly when their own power as legislators is in question.
“This is a momentous day,” said Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer, New York Democrat. “This is a moment historians will look back on. This could be a moment that changes the fundamental balance of power in our government.”

Repubs should be as concerned as the rest about this sort or expansion on Executive powers.

it's hard to get the President's own party to stand against Executive power grabs. Generally, each side is silent with their own President does it, and that's why we've seen its use grow so much over the last few decades.

This is a real kick in the teeth for Trump. He will get his revenge upon those in the GOP who had the audacity to go against him. This will not be forgotten.

This is a momentous day, for two reasons. First, twelve Republican Senators joined Democrats to vote against the improper use of presidential emergency powers to subvert the Constitutional provision that only Congress can appropriate funding. Second, the House of Representatives voted unanimously, all Republicans and all Democrats, to make the Mueller investigation report public. These are the first major actions by Republicans to try to rein in Trump's autocratic and despotic actions. Yes, Trump may veto the cancelling of his emergency declaration. But that would create a real Constitutional crisis, and make Trump and the Republicans look even worse.
